We clean and sand every surface to be painted, including both sides of doors and drawers, as well as end panels, cornices, and plinths. What will the project involve?
A flawless finish always begins with the right preparation, and that’s why every kitchen painting project by JS Decor begins exactly the same way.
We first make sure that we protect all your worktops, flooring and appliances surrounding your kitchen. Once fully secure, we then begin cleaning and sanding every surface that is to be painted. Yet this doesn’t just mean the exterior; and includes us prepping both sides of the kitchen doors and drawers, as well as the end panels, cornices and plinths, making sure that we prepare the entire of the kitchen.
We then apply a high performance adhesion primer – you can rest assured that we only use the very best kitchen painting materials for the job. Over the course of the following days, your kitchen will receive a minimum of two coats of specialist furniture paint, which is hand applied by our kitchen painting experts; and is sanded between each coat so to always deliver a flawless finish. This level of qualify craftsmanship sets us apart from other kitchen painters and ensures a durable and beautiful long-lasting hand painted kitchen.
What types of kitchens can you paint?
We can hand paint any wooden kitchen finish, including those that are pre-painted, MDF, vinyl wrapped, oak, pine, lacquered and more.
How much does it cost?
All kitchen painting projects are quoted for individually based on the size and complexity of the scheme. As a guide, a hand painted kitchen with us costs around £100 per door, therefore a small wooden kitchen that is lacquered oak or pine would cost around £1,200 to prepare, prime and paint.
This same kitchen, however, would cost around £5,000 to completely replace, which is a very conservative estimate and would usually mean a low quality kitchen. So rather than spending unnecessary money on a full kitchen replacement, you could instead change your worktops, flooring and have your kitchen hand painted for a fraction of the cost.
There are other kitchen painters on the market who are willing to charge you less, yet the quality of what you’ll receive won’t be comparative to the years of experience and levels of outstanding craftsmanship provided by JS Decor. We bought a nice, but well worn, second hand Welsh dresser. We asked Jason and his team to refurbish it for us. He disassembled it completely, stripped the painted table top and then sanded down the component parts. The table top was then varnished and the rest of the dresser spray coated – four coats. He has transformed our dresser, renovating it into a high quality, like new, piece of furniture for a very small kitchen!

J S Decor have just finished the renovation in Farrow & Ball Vert de Terre and it is absolutely fantastic. The beech work top also restored and the finish is unbelievable, the kitchen is good as new.
