An oak kitchen glow up in Chipping is exactly what we delivered today, completing another stunning transformation by JS Decor in the charming village near Preston, Lancashire. You know that feeling when you walk into a space and it just… feels right? That’s exactly the vibe we were going for.
We started with a kitchen that, while well-loved, was feeling a little bit stuck in the past. Dark oak cabinets, though classic, were making the space feel heavy and a touch outdated. Our mission? To utterly revitalise it, turning it into a bright, airy hub where family and friends would love to gather.

The star of this transformation is undoubtedly Farrow & Ball’s Elephants Breath. It’s a colour we adore because it’s just so incredibly versatile. It’s not quite grey, not quite beige, but something beautifully in between – a warm, sophisticated shade that dances with the light throughout the day. It instantly makes a room feel softer, more inviting, and undeniably elegant. We knew it was the perfect choice to banish the dark oak and welcome in a fresh, contemporary feel without losing that timeless charm.
Now, you might think painting a kitchen is just, well, painting a kitchen. But to get that flawless, factory-like finish that truly lasts, it’s an art form. Every single surface was treated with the utmost care. We’re talking meticulous cleaning, degreasing, and sanding – getting everything just right so the new paint has the perfect “hug” to hold onto. Walking into this Chipping kitchen now, it’s hard to believe it’s the same space. What was once dark and perhaps a little dated is now bright, airy, and incredibly welcoming.
